All of my life I have been drawn to and felt connected to nature on a spiritual level. A deep appreciation for its beauty and the relationship of all living things has colored my thoughts about the environment and the gifts nature offers us throughout our life cycle. Iconography helps me tap into and express my spirituality.
Color, texture, relationships of form and composition are considerations when working in acrylic, oils or other mediums. I am drawn to landscapes and subject matter reflecting the world around me. A work may start from a place I have visited, a photograph that speaks to me, working with color that excites me or a feeling of “let’s see what happens…” I strive to interpret beauty, truth and issues that face the human condition related to nature.
Art can enlighten and inspire others to see, appreciate and care for the world we live in. My goal is to create art that reflects this truth.
