Edel Stuehmke-Levy

When I paint an abstract picture I don’t know in advance what it is meant to look like, what I am aiming to do and what to do about getting there.

My artistic expression is, in essence, the natural result of the openness toward intuition and the unpredictable. “The image is erased entirely."

The creation process, the painting as space, the lines and forms are all subjected to continuous transformation until finally an arrangement is acceptable to my mind.
