As a child growing up in multiple cities of India, my paintings are influenced by the culture, traditions and the vibrant colors that are deeply rooted in the different parts of the country. In my early years as a student, drawing and painting were my preferred pastimes. The only formal training I ever received was in the art and craft classes in my school and since then I am pretty much self taught. I have been doing artwork for as long as I can remember.
I don't set out to produce art about one subject or another but as my portfolio developed and people started to review my work, the descriptions started to emerge and evolved over time. I like to experiment with colors and mediums and paint the canvas with my own vivid imagination, creating a colorful narrative and a unique piece of artwork.
A business analyst by profession, I never thought of doing serious painting until when I moved to New York City. After creating a portfolio of my paintings, I joined Roosevelt Island Visual Art Association, New York in 2013 and since then I have participated in various members’ exhibitions and sold some of my paintings. My work is highly appreciated by the RIVAA members and New York Community and has been featured in local newspaper WIRE multiple times.
